Our story
It began with the material.
Green East was founded in 2004 around a simple conviction: natural materials belong outdoors. Thatch, timber, bamboo and clay age well, sit quietly in a landscape and feel right underfoot and overhead in a way manufactured substitutes never quite manage.
What started as a design practice became a manufacturer out of necessity. To get the quality we wanted we had to build it ourselves — so today the timber workshop, the weaving floor and the clay kilns are all ours, and a piece can go from sketch to site without passing through anyone else’s hands.
Materials
What we build with.
Thatch
Natural Arabian and Thamar thatch, selected for density and resistance to weather and erosion, laid over wooden, iron or steel frames depending on the location and span.
Timber
Finnish spruce, beech pine and teak — Brazilian and African — worked for structures that must hold a shape and a finish for years in the open.
Bamboo & fibres
Bamboo, rattan, seagrass and tamr henna, woven by hand into lighting, screens and accessories that bring a natural texture to corners, entryways and seating areas.
Clay & terracotta
Aswani clay and terracotta thrown and fired in our own kilns — planters, lanterns, wall appliques and decorative vessels for indoor and outdoor use.
Capabilities
From survey to installation.
We work with hotel operators, developers, landscape architects and private owners. A typical project starts with a site survey and a drawing, moves through sampling and manufacturing in our workshops, and ends with our own crew installing on site.

Why Green East
Made properly, delivered on time.
Quality
Materials chosen to survive Egyptian sun, coastal wind and salt air. Everything we manufacture carries a one-year guarantee against manufacturing defects.
Craft
Design and manufacturing under one roof — our own timber workshop, weaving floor and clay kilns — so a drawing becomes a finished piece without compromise.
Commitment
Eight-week lead times from order confirmation, clear commercial terms, and a team that stays with a project from site survey through to installation.
